Cosmetic Rhinoplasty

Revision Rhinoplasty

Severe deformity caused by previous reduction rhinoplasty in this San Francisco Bay Area woman. Pinching and irregularities of the tip caused by over-aggressive reduction surgery. Correction required complete restructuring and camouflage cartilage grafting.

Patient had severe distortion and nasal obstruction from previous rhinoplasty. In this revision rhinoplasty, Dr. Kim grafted structural cartilage to restore normal architecture and strength to nose.

This Bay Area woman had previous rhinoplasty but wished that the tip of her nose was less prominent.  Dr. Kim performed a finesse revision rhinoplasty to reduce the prominance of the tip. 

Revision rhinoplasty. Patient suffered from pinching, obstruction and irregularities from prior rhinoplasty. Dr. Kim restored strength and support to the nose with cartilage grafting and opened the nasal airway for breathing with septal surgery.


Revision rhinoplasty. This San Francisco patient had severe injury many years previous and an attempt at correction with small rib graft reconstruction. Original graft was too small and was replaced by Dr. Kim with a larger rib graft placed to the bridge and tip of the nose. Much better appearance and breathing resulted.

Dr. Kim performed rhinoplasty on this young Bay Area women who severely injured her nose in childhood. He corrected her severe breathing problem and severe crooked nose deformity by completely restructuring the nasal structure and septum with septal and ear cartilage.

This young woman initially saw Dr. Kim for severe internal nasal breathing problems. Dr. Kim was able to fix her nasal obstruction by straightening her crooked nasal septum and by using cartilage grafts to alleviate the nostril collapse she experienced when she breathed in deeply. She also wished to make some cosmetic changes to her nose. After surgery, she was able to breathe much better and had a more refined nasal tip with a more elegant slightly sloped profile. The contour of the side profile varies tremendously from individual to individual. For women, the contour should be straight or slightly concave (as seen in this patient). For men, the contour should be straight or slightly convex.

This Bay Area man had severe nasal obstruction and an unsightly bump on the bridge.  During rhinoplasty Dr. Kim executed a structural re-orientation of the nose and septum to improve both appearance and function.  The patient requested that Dr. Kim preserve some the natural curve of his nose on the profile in order to maintain some of his familial features.

This young woman sustained a blow to her nose when a friend accidentally kicked her on a dance floor!  A severe nasal fracture caused her nose to become quite crooked and a bump to develop on her bridge.  She was also severely obstructed internally due to septal deviation.  Dr. Kim performed rhinoplasty, consisting of nasal bone repositioning, septal sub-total replacement, and reduction of the dorsal hump.  The surgery resulted in a nose that is straight from the front and side.  The breathing obstruction has been alleviated.
